Automatic FAQs
For most people, yes. There's no clutch control or gear changes to master, so you can put all your focus on the road, other traffic and your test skills. Lessons tend to feel calmer, especially early on.
No — an automatic licence covers automatic cars only. But if you plan to drive an automatic or electric car anyway (like most new cars today), that's no loss at all. If you think you'll need manual one day, we teach manual too — happy to help you decide on a quick call.
Everyone's different, but with no clutch or gears to learn, many learners reach test standard in fewer hours than they would in a manual. After a lesson or two we'll give you an honest estimate for your plan.
Automatic lessons are 1½ hours (£55) or 2 hours (£74), so you get proper time on the road every session. Block-book 10 hours for £350 or 20 hours for £680 to bring your rate down to £34/hr.
Very possibly. Nervous learners often get on brilliantly in automatics because there's so much less to juggle. Lessons go at your pace, and most people feel far more relaxed after the first lesson or two.
