Learning to drive in Wythenshawe
If you’re learning in Wythenshawe you’re lucky — the wide, well-laid-out estate roads around Benchill, Baguley, Newall Green, Peel Hall and Woodhouse Park are ideal for your first lessons, with roundabouts and junctions everywhere to practise on. Princess Parkway and the M56 slip roads are right there for fast-road confidence.
There are a couple of local specialities we make sure you’re comfortable with: the Metrolink tram crossings on the airport line, the big roundabouts around the town centre and the hospital, and the airport traffic on Altrincham Road and Simonsway. You’ll get plenty of fast dual-carriageway practice on Princess Parkway and the M56 slip roads. Once you’ve passed, we can take you on the motorway itself with a Pass Plus or motorway lesson.

We teach both. Manual gives you a licence for any car; automatic is often quicker and calmer to learn, especially if you’re nervous. Not sure? We’ll talk it through on a quick call — no pressure either way.
Everyone’s different. Complete beginners typically need somewhere around 30–40 hours with an instructor; if you’ve driven before it can be far fewer. After your first lesson or two we’ll give you an honest estimate and a plan.
Pay-as-you-go lessons are 1½ hours (£55) or 2 hours (£70 manual / £72 automatic). Block-book 10 hours (£330 manual / £350 auto) or 20 hours (£650 manual / £680 auto) and the hourly rate drops to as little as £32.50. Intensive courses are priced separately.
