About us
ZK Driving School is a South Manchester driving school — not a national franchise with a call centre. Our instructors live and teach round here: Moss Side, Hulme, Fallowfield, Rusholme, Withington, Didsbury, Chorlton, Whalley Range, Levenshulme, Burnage, Wythenshawe, Sale, Stretford and Old Trafford. That’s why we know the West Didsbury and Sale test routes the way you know your own street.
Every learner gets one instructor from first lesson to test day, a dual-control manual or automatic car, door-to-door pick-up from home, work, college or halls, and lessons 7 days a week — daytime, evenings and weekends. Prices are the same wherever you live: from £35 an hour pay-as-you-go, or as little as £32.50 an hour on a package.

Our instructors are all based in South Manchester, so we don’t routinely teach in north Manchester. Get in touch anyway — if we can’t help we’ll say so straight away rather than waste your time.
Yes. Every ZK instructor lives and teaches in South Manchester. That’s the whole point: they know the test routes, the awkward junctions and the quiet streets to start on because they drive them every day.
Yes — door-to-door pick-up and drop-off from home, work, college or halls, anywhere in our covered areas. Lessons start and finish at your door.
We teach both. Manual gives you a licence for any car; automatic is often quicker and calmer to learn, especially if you’re nervous. Not sure? We’ll talk it through on a quick call — no pressure either way.
Everyone’s different. Complete beginners typically need somewhere around 30–40 hours with an instructor; if you’ve driven before it can be far fewer. After your first lesson or two we’ll give you an honest estimate and a plan.
Pay-as-you-go lessons are 1½ hours (£55) or 2 hours (£70 manual / £72 automatic). Block-book 10 hours (£330 manual / £350 auto) or 20 hours (£650 manual / £680 auto) and the hourly rate drops to as little as £32.50. Intensive courses are priced separately.
