Learning to drive in Levenshulme
Levenshulme is proper South Manchester learning. The A6 Stockport Road is busy, narrow in places and full of buses and parked cars — handle that calmly and you’re most of the way to being a good driver. We don’t start you there, though: the quieter streets off Cromwell Grove and around Crowcroft Park come first.
From there we build up: Slade Lane, Matthews Lane, Mount Road, Burnage Lane and then Kingsway for faster dual-carriageway driving and its big signalised junctions. Our instructors teach across Levenshulme, Longsight and Burnage every week and know where learners slip up.
Levenshulme learners usually test at West Didsbury or Bredbury (Stockport), with Cheetham Hill as another option. We’ll help you choose and make sure you’ve driven the routes before the day.

We teach both. Manual gives you a licence for any car; automatic is often quicker and calmer to learn, especially if you’re nervous. Not sure? We’ll talk it through on a quick call — no pressure either way.
Everyone’s different. Complete beginners typically need somewhere around 30–40 hours with an instructor; if you’ve driven before it can be far fewer. After your first lesson or two we’ll give you an honest estimate and a plan.
Pay-as-you-go lessons are 1½ hours (£55) or 2 hours (£70 manual / £72 automatic). Block-book 10 hours (£330 manual / £350 auto) or 20 hours (£650 manual / £680 auto) and the hourly rate drops to as little as £32.50. Intensive courses are priced separately.
