Chorlton is a brilliant mix for learners: leafy, quiet streets off Beech Road and around Chorlton Green for your early lessons, then the busier stuff — Barlow Moor Road, Wilbraham Road and the famous Four Banks junction — once you’re ready for it.
There are a few Chorlton specials we make sure you’re comfortable with: the big Southern Cemetery roundabout where Barlow Moor Road meets Princess Road, the Metrolink tram crossings, cyclists and buses on Wilbraham Road, and the narrow parked-up streets where meeting traffic is the daily test of judgement.
The West Didsbury test centre is only a few minutes from Chorlton, so its routes come through M21 constantly — you’ll know them inside out well before your test. Sale is the other local option.
