Learning to drive in Sale
Sale is home to one of South Manchester’s busiest driving test centres — which means if you learn here, every lesson doubles as test-route practice. We teach in Sale every week and know the routes examiners use: Washway Road and Cross Street, Brooklands Road, Northenden Road, Dane Road, Marsland Road and the estates around Sale Moor.
You’ll start on the quiet residential streets — there are plenty around Brooklands and Sale Moor — and build up to the A56 with its buses and bus lanes, the M60 slip roads and the big junctions near the town centre. Metrolink runs through Sale too, so you’ll get comfortable around the tram line.
By the time your test comes round at Sale, you’ll have driven the routes dozens of times. If you’d rather test elsewhere, West Didsbury is close too.

Yes — door-to-door pick-up and drop-off from home, work, college or halls, anywhere in our covered areas. Lessons start and finish at your door.
We teach both. Manual gives you a licence for any car; automatic is often quicker and calmer to learn, especially if you’re nervous. Not sure? We’ll talk it through on a quick call — no pressure either way.
Everyone’s different. Complete beginners typically need somewhere around 30–40 hours with an instructor; if you’ve driven before it can be far fewer. After your first lesson or two we’ll give you an honest estimate and a plan.
Pay-as-you-go lessons are 1½ hours (£55) or 2 hours (£70 manual / £72 automatic). Block-book 10 hours (£330 manual / £350 auto) or 20 hours (£650 manual / £680 auto) and the hourly rate drops to as little as £32.50. Intensive courses are priced separately.
